Have you ever used soluble canvas for cross stitch? It’s kind of magical.
It allows you to essentially turn any fabric into cross stitch fabric by making a grid on top of the fabric, so you can stitch a design on and then remove the grid with water, so it looks like you stitched directly on your fabric.
This is a great way to jazz up T-shirts and onesies, towels and other fabric, but there are some things you should know before you use it.
Hannah from Bobo Stitch shared 10 tips for using soluble canvas at Sew and Sew, and they’re definitely worth a read if you’ve never used this stuff before, and even if you have. One simple one that should be obvious but might not be is that you should prewash your fabric, otherwise the stitches might distort if it shrinks during washing.
