I have two black cats, so this time of year is definitely our time to shine. If you want to celebrate your love of black cats in stitching, check out this Familiars Inc. cross stitch pattern from Fine Frog Stitching.
It’s a 63 by 88 stitch design worked in 5 colors, and comes out to 4.5 by 6.3 inches on 14-count fabric. It is meant to be worked on black fabric so you don’t actually have to stitch the cat, but I suppose you could work it on a different color background and stitch the cat in black as well.
You can find this pattern here, but check out all of Fine Frog’s Halloween patterns here.

One of the easiest ways to make a cross stitch project more personal is to add text to it. Whether you’re adding the names of people getting married to a generic floral cross stitch design, birth information to a project on theme with the new baby’s room or just adding a word or phrase that’s meaningful to you, adding words to cross stitch projects make them that much more special.
