My daughter recently had an overnight field trip in the national forest and came back with a fascination with mushrooms. And with good reason: mushrooms are colorful, have interesting textures and, in her world, are fun to draw.
I’m more likely to cross stitch a bunch of mushrooms than draw them, thanks to this amazing mushroom sampler from Cute Patterns by Maria.
Maria is a Ukrainian designer who has a lot of other great patterns if mushrooms aren’t your thing. If you do like the mushrooms, this design is 144 by 136 stitches and uses 29 colors and 5 blends. It looks amazing on black fabric, of course!
You can buy this or any of her other pattern on Etsy.

Last fall I came across this cross stitch pattern for a sea turtle and I talked myself out of sharing it right away because tropical animals don’t feel like a “fall” thing, but now that it’s summer again, let’s take a look at some cross stitch patterns for creatures that live in or around the sea.
