After talking about little summer cross stitch patterns the other day, I got to thinking about beach themed cross stitch projects. We have gone to the beach for vacation with our daughter most years, but this year we aren’t going so I’m missing both the beach and the beach house aesthetic.
Maybe this is the year I finally make something with all the seashells we’ve collected over the years, or at least stitch a coastal-themed cross stitch pattern. And if you’re in the southern part of the world longing for warmer weather, these patterns will remind you that beach weather is right around the corner again.
This graphic, retro on the beach cross stitch pattern from Stitchrovia is so cute and you can customize the umbrellas and towels to suit your decor if you don’t like the candy colors. The pattern is 116 by 179 stitches, which comes out to 8.3 by 12.8 inches when worked on 14 count fabric. You can get the pattern on Etsy.
Re-create sunset on the beach in stitching with this pretty heart-shaped project from Laser Arts Designs on Etsy. This one is 191 by 186 stitches, or 13.6 by 13.3 inches on 14 count fabric. It’s pretty detailed so this isn’t one for beginners, but it’s so lovely it will definitely be worth the effort.
Or check out this gorgeous sunset and crashing waves design from Etsy seller Zephyr Mood. It’s super realistic looking and uses 28 colors and blends (more on using blends here). It’s a circular design that comes out to 110 by 110 stitches (almost 8 inches on 14 count fabric).
Beach Waves is a pattern from Ugly Duckling House that looks like waves hitting the beach and is just so pretty. It uses 30 colors and 14 count fabric. It comes out to about 6 by 8 inches, and you can buy it through NeedleSpark.
