The only leaves that are falling where I live right now are the ones that turned brown and died in the heat, but I know that fall-fall is just around the corner so it’s time to get stitching with all the fall colors. Here are a few fall leaf cross stitch patterns for you to stitch up while you’re waiting for or enjoying fall wherever you live.
These watercolor fall leaves aren’t traditional fall colors, but they are a beautiful project that would be lovely in your home all year. I love the idea of stitching these on pillows or making a little set of wall hanging hoops as shown. This design is from Nikki Pattern on Etsy, and while the designs vary a bit in size they each use 16 colors.
For something a little simpler, try the Autumn Maple Leaves pattern from Daily Cross Stitch. It uses just six colors and measures 80 by 80 stitches.
This collection of little leaves from Etsy seller Cross Stitch Foxy is cute to stitch as a set as shown, or you can take individual leaves and make your own project. These would be cute stitched on a bookmark, or use them to make a border on another project. Or stitch them on an apron or napkins for a festive set you can use through Thanksgiving. In all the design uses seven colors and measures 106 by 106 stitches, or 7.5 inches square.
All of those uses also apply to the little leaves that make up the heart shaped design on this project from Cross with Me on Etsy. These sweet leaves and acorns are made with six colors, and the design is 96 by 94 stitches, or 6.86 by 6.71 inches on 14 count fabric.
