Needleworks Butterfly has assembled a collection of printable image files for embroidery and cross stitch for the above dogs. There are quite a few more different breeds on their website so if you don’t see your favourite puppy here don’t worry. Free Cross Stitch Dog Charts.

After getting our own dog, a Labradoodle, he soon became the subject of all my crafts. Finding a Labradoodle pattern for cross stitch or even SVG files, wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. In fact, looks like I am not the only one who likes to use dogs as the main subject of their crafts. I have even purchased some Labradoodle laser tags too. My mother has just bought a Cockalier so that is another dog theme I can craft too.  She is part Spaniel and part Cavalier kings Charles.  Originally my mother had a westie or a west highland terrier, but unfortunately, she passed over to the rainbow side.

  1. These look like scans from the book ‘Picture Your Pet in Cross Stitch” by Claire Crompton. Are you sure these are legal to show?

  2. The blogger who shared these patterns is breaking copyright law by doing so. These are obviously scans from a book! I would think you’d be better at upholding the law so that we don’t undermine our designers.

  4. I’m surprised you’d feature a blog post that is just a collection of scanned pages. I see no information stating the blog owner is the copyright holder for these charts, which means this is just one big copyright violation. Please don’t encourage people to do this by giving them publicity and praise when they do!

  5. There are pages free on Amazon, to all the idiots here crying about piracy. Also books are free at the library. What on earth is wrong with scanning and preserving them?

Designer Spotlight: Bad Stitched

I came across the Etsy shop Bad Stitched when I was looking for bookmark cross stitch patterns and found their adorable pride bat bookmark, which I didn’t share then because I was going for more of a back to school vibe, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you love rainbows and bats. 

This Etsy shop is big on whimsy and color, but not on organization, as there are not categories. Still, as of this writing there were only a little more than 60 patterns, so it’s small enough to scroll through. 

In keeping with the theme of the bat bookmark, there are a lot of designs with animals and insects in different colors. Another one that caught my in this neon cicada with a crescent moon and stars. This one is 85 by 70 stitches and uses 16 colors. On 14 count fabric it comes out to 6 by 5 inches, or 15.4 by 12.7 cm. 

You’ll also find patterns with animals such as mice, a snail, a jellyfish, a wolf, a corgi in a birthday hat, a fat seal and other bat designs. There are several mushroom designs, a pirate frog, and a scuba diving ghost (among other ghostly designs). You’ll find cats and mythical characters, a mouse thinking about eating strawberries and more. 

There’s also an ebook full of mushroom designs, and another of creepy creatures for Halloween and beyond. There’s also a Pantheon bundle, full of gods, goddesses, characters from mythology, three amphora designs and a Greek inspired font.
