Religious Easter Cross Stitch Patterns

March 27, 2023 by Sarah White

While there are lots of cute spring-related, Easter-themed cross stitch patterns out there, Easter is first and foremost a religious holiday, so here are a few cross stitch patterns to stitch for those who want more of a religious focus.

The “At Cavalry” cross stitch pattern from Sweet Wing Studio on Etsy features crosses, doves, flowers and words from the chorus of that song. It’s 129 by 79 stitches, or 8 and 1/8 by 5 inches on 16 count fabric or 32 count linen (it’s shown worked on a lovely lavender linen).

This simple Easter design from Cyberstitchers includes the word Easter and a cross with lilies. The design is 101 by 75 stitches and I think it uses five colors.

Fuzzy Fox Designs has a cute and colorful “He has risen” cross stitch pattern, which you could work in whatever bold colors you like. It uses 11 colors total as shown (you could work each word in the same color rather than changing every letter if you’d rather) and measures 87 by 84 stitches, or about 5.5 by 5.3 inches when worked on 16 count fabric.

They have another Easter design featuring a crown of thorns and text from John and Romans. It’s 100 by 100 stitches and uses eight colors.

Another word art Easter cross stitch pattern comes from Stitch with Susie on Etsy. This one has the names of Jesus who worked in a cross shape. It is 92 by 152 stitches, or 6.5 by 10.9 inches stitched on 14 count fabric. You can use as few as two or as many colors as you like for this project.

Tetelestai is a word that is translated as “it is completed” or “it is finished” and it is said to be the final word spoken by Jesus. This cross stitch pattern from Quaint Rose Needle Arts combines a vintage cross design with the word Tetelestai, its translation, flowers and the bible verse where it is found. It is worked in a single color and is 119 by 168 stitches.
