I’ve been wanting to do a state-shaped cross stitch pattern for a while now, but I haven’t gotten to it yet.
This idea from Modern on Monticello is even easier than what I had in mind, because the only part that is cross stitched is the I and the heart shape. The state is cut out of fabric and then sewn down to the cross-stitch cloth.
The result is really cute and easy to do; check her site for the full tutorial. It’s especially great if you’re from one of those states with a strange shape that wouldn’t be that easy to duplicate in cross stitch.
What do you think?
