It seems like a really traditional thing (to me, anyway) to make a cross stitch for someone’s wedding. These patterns usually have lots of flowers and the couple’s names and their wedding date, maybe a bit of verse from the Bible or a bit of love poetry.
There’s nothing wrong with any of that, but a bit of a more modern approach can be really fun, too.
I was looking on Pinterest for wedding cross stitch patterns I liked and I happened upon two of them I liked that were from the same designer: Stitches Lovers Shop.
Being a grammar geek as I am, I love the ampersand design, where the family name is positioned in the middle of the design along with the wedding date at the bottom. This one costs $6.
Also $6 is the green wreath wedding record cross stitch pattern, which comes in a few different variations and uses the first names and wedding date of the couple — perfect for couples that won’t share a last name or anyone else!
Both are designed so you can change the names and dates yourself, or they will personalize it for you if needed.

But do try to spell the last name correctly if you do this! 🙂

Sounds like you speak from experience, Trudi?

Maybe this IS how they spell it. That was my first thought too, but then, you never know.

I mean, who knows? There are lots of ways to spell things. 😉
