Sweet Mother’s Day Cross Stitch Patterns

April 21, by Sarah White. Leave a Comment

Mother’s Day is coming up soon, and even if your mama didn’t teach you how to cross stitch, you can still thank her for all the things she did teach you with a sweet cross stitched Mother’s Day design.

Here are a few that caught my eye on Etsy if you’re looking for something sweet to stitch for your mom or another special mom in your life.

This hoop art cross stitch design from Stitch Riot Designs features roses and the words Happy Mother’s Day. It measures 89 by 95 stitches, or 6.36 by 6.79 inches on 14 count fabric. It uses seven colors, but you can always change the colors on the flowers if you want.

Mom is literally the focus on this cross stitch pattern with flowers that spell out mom in the negative space. The design is from Hoop Modern Stitch, and it measures 105 by 45 stitches, or 7.5 by 3.2 inches when stitched on 14 count fabric. It uses nine colors.

If you or mom loves brushstroke lettering, this word art Mother’s Day cross stitch pattern is a great one. It uses 11 colors and the stitch area is 125 by 128 stitches. On 14 count fabric it would be 8.66 by 9.05 inches, so it would work in a 10-inch hoop. The design is by Oh My Stitches Shop.

The rose for Mom cross stitch pattern from Lifted Spirit Patterns is super sweet, but you’ll probably have to click through to be able to read it. This one is 175 by 126 stitches and uses 10 colors. On 14 count fabric that would be 12.5 by 9.1 inches.

While we’re on the subject of sweet, this one from If I Was a Stitch Girl says it all: Home is where my mom is. This one is shown using just two colors but it would be easy to add more. I think the little scrolly parts would look great in variegated thread, too. Whatever you choose, the design is 5.5 by 3.5 inches and is made to fit perfectly in a 4 by 6 inch frame.

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Cross Stitch Patterns

Since I covered Ted Lasso cross stitch patterns the other day, it feels like it’s time to share some cross stitch inspired by another show that just wrapped its final season, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” This show gave us retro style and a bunch of sassy female characters to remember. And again the patterns get a little salty thanks to one of Midge’s catchphrases.

Stitch a bunch of little characters from the show, or just your favorites from this sampler from Pixel Power Designs. The full piece measures 92 by 103 stitches and uses 13 colors. It comes out to 6.57 by 8.79 inches when worked on 14 count fabric.

Snarky Crafter Designs has a great Midge quote done in cross stitch. It is 116 by 156 stitches and uses two colors, and it uses cross stitches and back stitch. On 14 count fabric it comes out to 8.25 by 11 1/8 inches, but you can use whatever count fabric you like. And don’t act sorry about it!

Say “Thank you and goodnight!” with this Mrs. Maisel cross stitch pattern from Not Nana’s Cross Stitch on Etsy. This one looks like it uses five colors, and the design is 55 by 48 stitches.

OK, now for the salty ones. Midge and Susie are known for saying “Tits up” before a show, so of course that phrase has made it into Marvelous Mrs. Maisel cross stitch patterns. Stitch just those words in a retro font with the pattern from Stitch and Poke Company. It looks like two colors are used and the designer notes that if you use 18 count fabric the design will fit in a six-inch hoop.

Or you can stitch a Midge along with her famous phrase with a design from Fushia Hoops. This one is 72 by 105 stitches and is just over 5 by 7.5 inches worked on 14 count fabric. Let these designs be a reminder to greet every day as your feisty, awesome self.
