Book-Themed Bookmark Cross Stitch Patterns

July 13, 2023 by Sarah White

I know I’ve shared a lot of bookmark cross stitch patterns before. I love them because they’re small and usually pretty easy projects that are useful, too. They’re great for beginners and make great gifts for book lovers along with a book or a gift card to your favorite bookstore.

But today I thought I’d add a layer of fun by sharing book-themed bookmarks to cross stitch. Because why not?

Rogue Stitchery has this fun pattern that I think everyone who reads past their bedtime can relate to. It has a stitch count of 34 by 110 and the pattern includes instructions for how to turn it into a bookmark.

I found another one from the same designer on Etsy about having to drag you out of a bookstore, which is also relatable and a great gift to go along with a gift card. This one is 32 by 108.

For the friend (or you!) who loves both coffee and books, there’s this bookmark hailing the virtues of both from Yellow Birdie Stitches on Etsy. It’s 34 by 95 stitches and you can work it in browns on a white or cream fabric, or use white on black.

If people won’t leave you alone when you’re settled down with your latest read, the “Buzz Off I’m Reading” bookmark from She Says it in Stitches might be just the thing for you. This one is available on Etsy and is 32 by 112 stitches and uses six colors.

Or you could try “Hands off my Book,” a free pattern from Kinkavel Krosses. This one uses a single color of floss (though you could do the words and the border in different colors if you wanted) and is 105 by 33 stitches.

Mari Annie Art on Etsy lets everyone know your weekend is “booked” with this cute cross stitch bookmark. It’s 23 by 59 stitches, so this is a good one if you need a last-minute gift since it’s a little smaller than the others I’ve mentioned.
