Of course hearts are everywhere this time of year, and I have shared with you a lot of patterns that include hearts in them. A lot of times you will see basic heart shapes that are filled in or it’s just the outline of the heart in the cross stitch pattern, but today I wanted to share a couple that are a little different.
These patterns still have a heart shape that is predominant in the design, but the heart itself is made out of other things, which makes it a little more interesting and special than a plain heart cross stitch pattern.
Take, for example, this cute animal lovers heart from Ping Ping Studio on Etsy. Instead of being a regular heart it’s filled with paw prints. They can be cat prints or dog prints as you prefer (or maybe some of both!). The pattern is worked with just one color of thread and comes out to 6.71 by 5.64 inches stitched on 14 count fabric. That measures 94 by 79 stitches. If you want less of a Valentine’s feel for this one you could stitch it in any color you like to suit your decor.
Or look at this pretty Scandinavian heart cross stitch pattern. This one is designed by Stitchonomy on Etsy and features two birds facing each other, flowers and other little designs. This one also has room for a date or maybe a last name if it’s a short name, so it would be perfect to do for a wedding. Add in the date of the ceremony or the couple’s last name, and again you can stitch this one in whatever color they would like. In all it is 153 by 105 stitches, which comes out to 10.93 x 7.50 inches on 14 count fabric. The pattern comes with a full set of letters and numbers so you can add whatever text you want.
