If you’re looking for fun options for temperature cross stitch projects, whimsical animals or J.R.R. Tolkien inspired art, Cross Stitch for You is, well, for you.
The biggest category in the shop is Tolkien art, much of it featuring quotes and images from the books. This one isn’t entirely representative of the options, but I do like this colorful depiction of a hobbit hole in the Shire.
It calls for 34 colors, and of course you can change up the flowers if you want them to be different colors than what is shown. The design is 8.43 by 8.79 inches, or 21.41 by 22.32 cm on 14 count fabric, with a stitch count of 118 by 123 stitches. I love how it’s almost round, and you could certainly cut off the edge of the tree if you want to keep it circular.
The next biggest category is cats, which seems appropriate. There are cat samplers, and snarky, murderous cats, cats on a bookshelf and outlines of cats with designs inside them.
Next up is Halloween, which includes more cats, holding a seance or doing spells. There are dancing skeletons, a sampler of cute ghosts, plants in skulls and fogs doing Halloween things.
You’ll also find Star Wars and Harry Potter inspired art, Christmas designs, patterns inspired by Disney, graduation and Valentine’s Day projects and more.
And back to those temperature projects for a minute. There are lots of different options including a circle stitch with hearts and stars, making each moth a glass or putting it in a jar, making the year in the shape of a cat or a skull, or stitching each day as a tiny block that looks like a calendar (though the full effect is a bit like a periodic table, too).

Summertime is beach time, which also means it’s seagull time. Let’s stitch up some of our favorite scavengers of the shore.
