I have always liked sunflowers, but of course now they make us think of Ukraine and are all the more meaningful and beautiful. I think we should all stitch a sunflower — or a field of them! — this summer.
This free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop has a basic sunflower head with multicolored petals. The pattern is 30 by 30 stitches, or 3 inches square. It uses four colors.
You can download the free pattern form Fat Quarter Shop.

Last fall I came across this cross stitch pattern for a sea turtle and I talked myself out of sharing it right away because tropical animals don’t feel like a “fall” thing, but now that it’s summer again, let’s take a look at some cross stitch patterns for creatures that live in or around the sea.
I’m looking forward to making this!
