I absolutely love the idea of cross stitch on clothing. Stitching a design is a perfect way to add embellishments or repair that favorite outfit. DMC USA created this Heart on a Chain pattern that is just a perfect addition for your sweater or shirt. I think it would also look great stitched down the side of jeans, like it is coming out of your pocket. The pattern calls for water soluble canvas, which if you haven’t tried before, do so now! It is a great tool. You stitch on the canvas and then run it under water and the canvas disappears but the stitches are still there. It is so much easier than Waste Canvas.
Directions on how to use the canvas and the pattern can be found HERE.

Last fall I came across this cross stitch pattern for a sea turtle and I talked myself out of sharing it right away because tropical animals don’t feel like a “fall” thing, but now that it’s summer again, let’s take a look at some cross stitch patterns for creatures that live in or around the sea.
Ack! I am stitching a design now with waste canvas. Such a pain. Glad to know there’s an alternative for next time!
