I love the look of this hand-lettered cross-stitch design from One Artsy Mama. Like many people, she’s been taken by hand lettering and decided to draw out a design in pencil on cross-stitch cloth, then stitch it using cross stitch and backstitch.
I love the way it turned out! This would be great to do with your favorite saying or your word for the year or anything else you want to say in stitches. It’s not quite preserving someone’s handwriting, but it kind of is.
Have you ever done hand lettering on a cross stitch project before? This is a great alternative to trying to chart out a word one letter at a time. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I already shared some cross stitch patterns specific to America 250, but if you want to cross stitch something more general for the Fourth of July, these patriotic sampler style patterns are a great place to start.
