In late 2017, DMC released a collection of 35 gorgeous new embroidery thread colors. It was the first time they had introduced new colors in over a decade, so it was a big deal. This free cross stitch pattern features the beautiful new colors arranged in a pretty pansy pattern. It’s stitched on black so the colors really pop!
This design by Stitched Modern is a great way to sample a range of colors, whether the new range of colors like hers or any color collection you might already own.
The black fabric is a particularly bold choice, but you could use whatever you have on hand as well.

One of the easiest ways to make a cross stitch project more personal is to add text to it. Whether you’re adding the names of people getting married to a generic floral cross stitch design, birth information to a project on theme with the new baby’s room or just adding a word or phrase that’s meaningful to you, adding words to cross stitch projects make them that much more special.
Beautiful!
