Patriotic Cross Stitch to Celebrate America 250

May 4, 2026 by Sarah White

The United States has a pretty big birthday coming up, and lots of cross stitchers seem to be celebrating with commemorative patriotic cross stitch designs. If you want to stitch up something special for America 250, check out these patriotic patterns.

ONESEO has a set of six cross stitch patterns celebrating America’s birthday, including the logo for the celebration, some patriotic symbol samplers, a 250 year celebration and a patriotic goose (very on theme for 2026). You can also buy individual patterns if you’d rather.

Or you can get nine mini Fourth of July themed designs from Embrovera, including a heart with flag designs, fireworks, an apple pie and happy 250. The designs are all 40 by 40 stitches, which comes out to about 2.9 inches on 14 count fabric (or 7.4 cm)

Monica’s Stitching has this cute America 250 design with a series of flags in a basket surrounded by branches and stars. The design is 70 by 107 stitches and is shown on 40 count linen stitches one over one, which makes the design 3.5 by 5.3 inches, or 8.9 by 13.5 cm.

Stitch up a super traditional looking celebration with this bald eagle and flag design from The Crafted Keeps. This one is 220 by 114 stitches and it looks like it’s stitched on linen though this one is meant to be over 2 threads, so 28 count is equivalent to 14 count on Aida). That would make the finished design 15.7 by 8.1 inches, or 39.9 by 20.7 cm. It uses 12 colors.

Another one featuring an eagle, this time with quilt blocks, a waving flag (which I would stitch in the opposite direction) and more comes from Owl Stitching House. At 83 by 102 stitches, this one will come out to 5.9 by 7.2 inches, or 15 by 18.5 cm, on 14 count fabric.

Or go for a smaller eagle design with this one from The French Giraffe. At just 47 by 47 stitches, this one uses 13 colors and comes out 3.4 inches or a little more than 8.5 cm square on 14 count fabric, which you’ll probably be able to finish before the Fourth.

Stitch 4 Seasons has a bold text based design, while I love the stamp style on these patriotic minis from Vibes Nest LTD. Or stitch up a patriotic street scene (complete with a cat on the roof!) with this design from Little Lama Stitching.

Designer Spotlight: Silverberry Designs

I was directed to a cross stitch pattern from Silverberry Designs for a recent post I was working on, and I knew that I needed to share them with you for one reason: cross stitch Clue.

This re-creation of the Clue game board fits in a 10-inch frame, so it’s not really playable, but I still love it because I loved the game (and the movie) growing up. This pattern is 122 by 127 stitches, which comes out to 8.71 by 9.7 inches, or 22.1 by 23 cm, when worked on 14 count fabric. It uses 10 colors.

It turns out this store has a lot of game related cross stitch patterns. You’ll find playing cards, billiard balls, a roulette table and a classic Nintendo controller. There’s a ouija board, and board games for Sorry, Scrabble and Trouble. So fun for a game room or anywhere else.

The category that has the most patterns is holidays and religion, which is a hodgepodge of Christmas, July fourth and St. Patrick’s Day, with a Star of David, an Islamic crescent and star and some other things thrown in.

There are also a large number of LGBTQ+ patterns, from Pride flags to rainbow hearts and peace signs, and lots of other rainbow designs.

The “words & phrases” section includes bathroom rules, a blank monthly calendar, some snarky signs, teacher appreciation designs and more. You’ll also find a blank map of the United States you can stitch in as you travel, as well as more travel related designs, home and garden, holidays and celebrations, animals (hippo, owl, skunk, bald eagle, cat in leaves, etc.) and more.

The page also sells supplies including 14 count Aida fabric in 12 colors, needles, floss, hoops and more. And they have a subscription box that includes a pattern and all the supplies you need to make it. (The pattern is a surprise but you can contact them to ask if you really must know before you order.)

Check out all the fun stuff at Silverberry Designs.
